Minty Sablé Biscuit

As an aspiring “good mum” in the kitchen with few knowledge of different cake recipes  yet, I take the opportunity of my maternity leave to practice a bit.

My Mother is kind enough to let me ruin her kitchen, and take the opportunity to give me some tips that she should have given me years ago. My great-grand father was a Boulanger, so she has a few good one.

Ok, so today, we will do some Minty Sablé. The only “Minty” part of the sablé biscuit is that they will find “Minty” written on them. They started by having “YTNIM” written, then I woke up and put the letter in the correct order…

Ingredients:

  • 150 g of Flour + additional for the baking mat
  • 75 g of Butter
  • 100 g of  White Sugar
  • Orange blossom aroma (or one that you like)
  • 1 Egg + 1 egg yolk
  • salt

Need to have:

Start by mixing Flour + Sugar + Aroma then finally add the Butterflourorange blossom

Now start pressing them in between your hands in order to create a sand-like texture add butter

mix

Add the egg then roll a ball on your baking mat on which you would have added flour to avoid the stickiness on your hand. Put the ball back on the bowl, cover with a tea towel and leave it like that for an hour.

You have an hour to do something else, such as dealing with a crying baby, or just sit down and enjoy the view.wait

Hey! You’re back!

Now put back some flour on your silicone mat, and some on your hand. Add a little bit on top of your ball (I am talking about the dough!) and start rolling it so your dough is about 1cm flat.

roll

Use your stamp as many time as you can on your flat dough, then pill off what is remaining and roll it again. Repeat the process as many time as needed. Shape the last bit that won’t fit the stamp as you want.

Preheat your oven at 180°c

If you have bought your biscuit embosser stamp, try your word on one, and check your spelling before doing it all!

Pick them up with the spatula and put them on a baking tray that you will have butter before (did I forget to mention it?)pick it up

Put your baking tray in the oven, and heat it for 10 minutes.cookingAnd TADA!

Your biscuits are ready!
